Synopsis
"After you've had it, there isn't even life without drugs...."
It started when she was served a soft drink laced with LSD in a dangerous party game. Within months, she was hooked, trapped in a downward spiral that took her from her comfortable home and loving family to the mean streets of an unforgiving city. It was a journey that would rob her of her innocence, her youth -- and ultimately her life.
"Read her diary.
Enter her world.
You will never forget her."
Review
So this book was extremly haunting..i stayed up late to finish it and found that i couldn't go to sleep after! Go Ask Alice is scary and amazingly sad. It starts off with a young girl about as normal as anyone else and then one night at a party, she is introduced to LSD and her whole world is turned around. She runs away and gets in to different, harder drugs. As the book progresses her diary becomes darker and her writing is tainted by hallucenations and drug filled rendevous. This story is bad- but in a really good way. Does that make any sense? I dont know but you really need to read this book! It is a real diary about a real girl and it might even hinder you from EVER taking drugs period. Read it!
Is this a true story? I'm never into the darker kind of books but I might check it out.
ReplyDeleteYes it is a true story from a diary of a girl compiled by an editor named Beatrice Sparks. It is a really good book and i definitley recommend it!
ReplyDeleteThis book, though it may be very dark and depressing at times, is a must-read book! I loved it and would highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteits not a true story look on the inside of the book it says non fiction
ReplyDeleteIt is a true story, it is said to be non fiction because the book is edited. It's changed around for the sake of people who knew the girl and cares for her safety. Besides, who could make up a story this gripping?
