Synopsis
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Review
Shiver speaks with lovely lyrical style and heart wrenching suspense. Every minute you’re on your toes and every second you fall deeper and deeper in love. Sam and Grace are another amazing duo who capture or heart and pull you in begging for more.
The best thing about shiver is the really the story. The concept of werewolves who change in the winter is so fresh and original I was kind of thrown off guard when I first heard it! What really gets me sucked in is the fact that they have a limited time as a human after they are bitten and start changing. THAT makes the whole story ten times more interesting.
Sam is the sensitive, lovey-dovey kind of guy while Grace is a little over-analytical and brainy. Like fire and ice they’re one connection is the fact that Sam is a member of the pack of werewolves that Grace has been obsessed with ever since she got attacked when she was eight. The plot has a lot of mysterious goings-on and you’re always guessing who and how and ultimately when.

When! When! When! That’s the big conflict in this story and it’s always the when that keeps us interested. I find the suspense thrilling- through out the novel Grace battles with her deep feeling for Sam, heart broken by the coming of winter but ecstatic that she finally gets to be with him! Grace is a really good character with a lot of depth and perception. I feel as if I know her and that’s what makes her so fun and relatable.
Sam of course really reminds me of the guy we always want! He reads poetry and writes song lyrics but he’s also fierce and protective- I would be obsessed too! He also has a somewhat of tragic past which rally pulls the reader in. I liked how his mind was always very thoughtful and understanding, Maggie Stiefvater writes Sam beautifully and describes him like he’s really there. It’s so gorgeously written that I constantly reread some parts because they were put together so nicely! Im really thankful that I got the chance to review this book and I really highly recommend it!
